Classroom Training for PC-DMIS Advanced Training - PC-DMIS GD&T - 2 days

Course summary/agenda:

The PC-DMIS Advanced GD&T course is targeted at individuals who have completed the PC-DMIS Level 1 course and wish to enhance their understanding of GD&T and how to implement that correctly in PC-DMIS. All GD&T types will be covered with practical examples throughout to aid learning. The course will provide a platform for trainees to create reports that follow the latest metrology standards, ensuring their workplace quality processes are based upon correct metrology data.

Classroom Training - Introduction to calibration and gauge maintenance- Hexagon Technical Centre - 1 day

Course summary/agenda:
• What is metrology?
• Importance of accurate measurement
• Manufacturing tolerances
• How small are ‘Microns’?
• Basic approach to measurement uncertainty
• Common terms used in metrology
• Importance of calibration, verification, and traceability
• Practical set-up and correct use of basic measurement instruments including micrometers, calipers, gauge blocks and dial indicators
• Basic understanding of coordinate principles relating to CMM’s

Classroom Training - Introduction to geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) - Hexagon Technical Centre - 1 day

Options:
This course can be delivered to BS/ISO or ASME Y14.5 standards. We also offer a ‘Virtual’ option for both courses.

Course summary/agenda:
• Introduction to geometrical product specification (GPS)
• Requirements of GD&T
• GD&T standards
• Interpretation of geometrical characteristics
• The implications of using certain geometrical characteristics
• Understanding datum reference systems (primary, secondary, tertiary. 6 Degrees of freedom)
• General tolerance
• Tolerance frames
• Understanding the GD&T symbols:
• Form tolerances
• Location tolerances (including maximum material condition principle)
• Orientation tolerances
• Runout tolerances
• Profile tolerances
• Surface texture principles
• New symbology
• Advanced features
